Those copper washers really are a one time use only item. Though like all of us, I re-use mine when I can. GM or Ford sells them in a variety of sizes quite cheaply. The problem with them is that the

Actually, you need a temp of about 950d F to anneal copper "dead soft" ...... There are different "red hots".... too hot will damage...Quenching in water is faster but not necessary..just letting the

I was able to find new washers at a local hydraulic place. I was also able to purchase a washer that had a rubber sealing lip embedded in the inner circle of the washer, for a little extra protection
