I need to repair a rubber mount that has worked loose. The original vulcanizing appears to have been flawed. Anyone know of an adhesive that will permanently bond rubber to metal? Thanks, Jim

I wouldn't know that it is permanent, but I've had really good luck using 3M trim adhesive (aka gorilla snot) to bond some rubber gastank cushions to an aluminum motorcycle frame....

If the rubber is weakened to the point that it's rearing away from themetal, it's probably weakened to the point that it would tear away from the adhesive. That having been said, What kind of mount?

I used an Araldite Epoxy to repair a motor mount once. Worked for as long as I had the car. I don't remember which flavor I used. _http://www.huntsman.com/structural-adhesives/_ (http://www.huntsman.

Hey, Bob, thanks for the link. Alas, if silicone Goop is the strongest they know of for rubber to metal, I fear Jim's motor mounts are doomed. However, there was an interesting comment about Canada

Somewhere near 30 years ago, I used good old Contact Cement for my Singer's front motor mount and it is still holding. Now this is a mount where the weight of the motor is on top of it so not a shear
