Like you, I gave up on DieHard batteries several years ago. I think Interstates are as good as any regular battery; however, everything I build and run for myself now contains an Optima. Expensive @

At the store that I work at, I was told that there are only 2 companies in the USA that mamufacture battries. Johnson Controls is one of them, don't recall the other. As I looked around for a battery

I know that Interstate makes their own batteries (or at least used to), my sister used to work for them in Indiana. I've also heard that Exide makes their own, and OEMs them to many other companies.
