My first thought would be a "impact screwdriver", the kind where you beat on the end with a BFH. The hammer blow seems to not only force the screwdriver into the slot (so it's less likely to strip),

I second the hand impact suggestion. But before that, if you have a way to heat the screws - mini-torch perhaps - it will still be useful. The idea is to break the chemical/mechanical bond. Then use

If these are delicate things try hitting them with a hand engraver. The mini air chisel effect of the engraver can sometimes help free things up a bit. I've always pushed on the outside of the screw
