It IS broke... I don't think the list is getting my gist. The rear end is currently in poor condition and the current ratio is far to high to enjoy the car for much more than a putts around the block

Why not look into narrowing a ford mustang rear end. There are lots of them out there and some have disc brakes. Shortening the housing is pretty straight forward and I am thinking the axles can be

An added benefit of going the shortened Ford route is you can use a bolt-on wire wheel adapter, since the bolt pattern is the same as an Alpine. You just might have to have the holes enlarged a littl

I wonder if the disc brakes from the 8.8 will bolt on the Mutt II housing? Is the weight difference that much, the cost off narrowing would be the same. I guess you would have to balance the cost of

Jim, I think the rear axle asembly from a '89 turbo Tbird, has disk brakes and the four bolt hubs. That might be the best donor. I tried to buy one, a few years ago from the owner who was parting out

There's a Ford Maverick axle in my Funwagon. The PO cut all the brackets from the both axles, welded all the Commer brackets to the Ford axle, and bolted it in. Looks like he might have had the back
