I just removed the air filter covers from my '67 B, stripped them to repaint, and discovered that one is galvanized and one is not. One has obviously been replaced from new but that got me wondering,

There is a performance gain it's marginal but is a plus. The thing you need to ask yourself is...how many times per year do you change your air filter and how much does it cost for a new filter each

I've got a K+N filterplate set on my B and I recently cleaned them... two options: The official way is to buy the K+N recharger kit for ~$10. It comes in a nice little box with the cleaner, red oil

I do know that using the incorrect cleaning and/or oiling products will kill a K&N filter. The rubber hardens and shrinks. The paperwork I have here states NO strong detergents. I'd think if you use
