Mike-

I've got a K+N filterplate set on my B and I recently
cleaned them... two options:

The official way is to buy the K+N recharger kit
for ~$10. It comes in a nice little box with the cleaner, red oil and
the sealing grease. Woohoo.

The unofficial way is to squirt them with a good
degreasing cleaner (simple green, whatever) let them
soak for about 15 mins and rinse them from the inside
out. Let them dry overnight, then lightly re-oil them
with a thin (preferably colored) oil. Some use MMO,
others use AFT fluid. K+N recommends neither... gee,
imagine that.

Installation, as they say, is the reverse of
disssasembly...
