Are you sure about that? The photo on the HF site doesn't have enough resolution to be sure, but I think I see lines every degree on the fixed main scale, with longer lines for the 10 degree marks.

I agree with Mark. Not only does it go faster, but you don't even need to know the angle. Coped joints stay tighter longer than mitered inside joints. For outside joints you still need to miter them.

Just read the angle at zero mark and ignore the vernier. That should give you the angle in degrees. If you want you can guess the fractional degrees, though for wood working degrees is close enough.
