The gasket, being copper, is resistant to shrinkage. Only heating the block will work. could you throw the gasket in the freezer to shrink it down, slide over the bolts, and then let it warm up in pl

The coefficent of expansion of copper is 17, steel is 11 (higher means more expansion). So cooling the copper will "Shrink" it. Good idea to put the gasket in the freezer. Here is the wikipedia websi
