- My speedo needle tends to bounce, especially at lower speeds and when down shifting. At cruising speed, I just average the bounce to guess at my speed. I have a new cable, rebuilt tranny(A type OD),

- The 3/8's should be measured at the speedometer end. Insert the inner cable into the sheath until it will not go any further. At that point, you try turning the inner cable by hand to make sure it is

- This is a really good tip Robert. Thanks for that! Thinking about it, if I were to run into this, I might try fitting a spacer inside the angle drive at the gearbox attachment side to take up the nee

- Some of the replacement cables have a plastic bushing/bearing at the upper/speedometer end, the originals were metal. In addition to the 3/8" maximum mentioned, make sure that no part of the bushing

- Moss recommends a copper washer between either the cable and the right angle or the tranny and the right angle (can't remember which) and will insist on selling you one. I installed their washers in

- You did mean trim the speedo end of the cable not the angle drive end? The speedo end has the plastic bush/stop that does not allow it to go further into the sleeve. I did measure it and it is about
