There is no easy way to run the wire,HeHeHe but the best way I have found is thru the sunvisor hole stick a stiff wire down the post and draw your speaker wire upthru the hole,some times u can pull

I believe you can check it with a pick light, hook one end to the + post of the Battery and the other to the top of the sending unit,when cold the light will not light up, touch the base of the sendi
