Yep. I've certainly seen TR-2s beat a Healey off the line, but the Healey had those great long legs. It could easily reach 100 mph and stay there - that's how it got it's "100" tag. It developed max.

This raises an interesting point. I remember years ago seeing a photo of an SP250 with a hard-top AND a blue flashing light on top. It was used by the Police on the M1 in Britain in the mid sixties.

Malcolm, I could be way off beam here, but I think your problem might be that the carbs are too BIG. The 1.75" HS6 is a pretty big carb and a pair of them will very happily feed a 3 litre engine....
