While you've got the top of the dash off check the dash light connectors for the speedo. They tend to short out against the steering wheel mount. Had to fix mine twice as the 1st time I just used el

Regarding putting hose connections on the firewall: Many of the custom cars and hot rods I've seen have firewall connections so there must be a supplier somewhere that sells them. Marvin

If you look closely you should see a wire clip snapped around the shaft next to the ball with part of the wire going into the ball socket. Simply rotate the clip off the shaft and pull the wire out

The oil pump is in the oil pan so that's not it. It could be the oil pressure sending unit which is on the drivers side of the block near the front. Marvin
