I'm putting the rear brakes back together on my TR4A. The manual shows the springs on the 'inside'. I was able to get the bottom spring on the inside, but I can't get it together with the top on the

I don't know if it makes an incredible amount of difference. And, to be honest, I've never actually replaced shoes on a 4A (presumably IRS, right?). But if it's like most other Girling brake setups,

Also FWIW, I do it much the same way, except I fit both shoes into the cylinder first, then both ends into the adjuster. Probably makes no difference on your TR4A with it's single-acting cylinders,

I have found the best way to put those rear brake shoes back on an TR4A is to first decide exactly where they go, then fit the springs into their holes and holding one shoe in each hand pull them apa
