Dave Massey's suggestion is a good one but there is one thing we haven't mentioned yet. Check the various grounds, battery to chassis, chassis to engine, or bettery to engine if that's how it is wire

You are correct. It shows up along with &amp; and other common HTML characters when someone's mail sending program knows only how to send HTML. Apparently plain text isn't sufficient anymore, FORMATT
