- What would be the likely culprit for Z-S carburetors and a 72 TR6 that, when warm, run at high idle? Around 1500 rpm when hot. Haven't paid much attention to them for a while. Well, maybe ever. -- Ma

- Hate to say this, Bill, but those were not the factory bolts. Since they go into a relatively soft aluminum sealing block, I'm guessing that they bottomed in the holes rather than pulling up against

- Earlier this year, I lost the alternator out of my '78 spit at a british car festival, bought a cheap charger, charged the battery and drove home that way. Still enough charge to start several times.

- Looks like you have two seprate problems. (1) The wires on the back of the ammeter are reversed, making the current flow backwards through the meter, thus, it shows positive when it is really negativ
