Sounds as if you need to replace the worn parts. On my TR4 the parts were still good enough that loosening the screws and moving the parts fixed the problem. Don' know if that is posssible on a TR6.

YES! That's why my first car was a TR4 CT33118L -picked up at Coventry in '64 -sold in '76 and returned to me in '91 - and now my daily driver! The stories I can tell - car has been all over the U.S.
