When my car was new in '64 I used 20W oil, which is what I recently read in
some manual was proper. However, when I tried to find 20W oil several years
ago, I had real difficulty finding it. I finally gave up and bought the
stuff you have. It has worked fine for about 3 years now - so I don't the
oil is the problem. Are u allowing the called for 1/4" clearance at the
bottom of the filler cap -- i.e. when the oil is in the cylinder, the piston
should meet resistance about a 1/4 inch before it is seated and ready to be
screwed tight. Otherwise I don't know what it could be unless u have a leak
somewhere. Hope this helps. Anyway please let us know for future reference.
