That's correct. this is part of the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) system. On the Tigers, and other cars of that period, it was used mostly to just heat the Intake manifold as described below by Bob

Dick is correct, the Jag's IRS is a complete drop out unit which comes with inboard disk brakes, and factory Limited slip, and coil over shocks. Drops out of the Jag fairly easily as a complete unit.
