It should only cause oil to run down the valves if the valve stem seals are shot. If you get a puff of blue smoke at start up that quickly clears, that's due to valve stem seals going bad. I was cons

Unfortunately the probable same engineers weren't intelligent enough to design a decent thrust BEARING system. A half circle thin washer must of been a joke that got put into production by accident!

Actually, the thrust washer system that Triumph used isn't too far removed from modern systems. The main difference being that nowadays the thrust washers are part of the main bearings themselves. A
