The cable should go straight down through the hole in the "shelf" portion of the firewall, which is directly over the accelerator pedal. It definitely does NOT go through the holes in the brake/clut

I always lubricated mine with light oil. I don't see how you could get graphite powder up very far inside the cable. With oil, you can hang the cable vertically and squirt some oil in the top and let

The one originally on the car snapped so this is a new one. I never had a prob with the old one although I new it was on the way out. The cable seems fine when I disconnect it but when I put it back
