I've never actually seen a Spitfire with the Commission Plate in the door frame area, all of my Spits have had it rivetted to the left hand side of the bulkhead. Is this one of those anomalies for th

I'm sure this is wrong. I have previously rebuilt 3 rail Spitfire boxes from non-O/D to O/D, and I am currently doing the groundwork to convert a single rail 1500 box to O/D using components from a

The overdrive and Non-overdrive propshafts (driveshafts) ARE different lengths on the single rail box. I don't remember the specifics, but there is a table in the John Kipping catalogue which gives

The final drive retains the same ratio, the overdrive steps down the gearbox output by around 20% (depending on the spec of the overdrive fitted), so 1:1 non o/d becomes 0.8:1 in overdrive. Cheers,
