You need to separate the transmission from the engine first. Take the tranny out of the car, leaving the torque converter bolted to the flexplate. Then you will be able to easily use a socket and rat

There will get lots of fluid draining out when the transmission pulls away from the converter's shaft. You should either use a big drain pan if possible. I didn't have a pan when I recently removed a

With the starter removed you should have pretty good access to the bolts?? I used a socket and ratchet with no problem? DO NOT leave the converter attached to the flex plate and remove the transmiss
