Another possibility is that the float has develpoed a leak and is not moving with the fuel level. The float can be soldered if it leaks. Ron Olds

Robertson head screws are also available in sheet metal screws and machine screws. This is all I use around the house, they are the best type of screw to use with a screw gun.
