That post was from myself. I don't really know about the 69 but my 68 has the same wrap around type thing as the 67 does. If the 69 tach is connected to a car presently and is working I'm not to sure

The white wire actually loops through a rectangular piece of plastic which in turn sits on a double spade type terminal on the tach, which has a small hold down clamp held on by a little knurled nut.

as a matter of fact the distributor I called was Petersen. Thanks for the confirmation. I believe these are a exact copy of the su fuel pump and seem to work on either pos or neg grnd.

I had the same problem and eventually went to the local hardware store and bought a correctly sized Circlip instead of the stock spring clip. Has been ok for over three months now.
