I've seen a few Ebay sellers in their listings stating they can ship via Greyhound bus (hood, hard top, ect.) for $35 - $60 U.S. depending on location. This might be only terminal to terminal though.

I just happen have a spare one in hand (from '79B) and the wires are opposite your statement, i.e. black = left and red/white = right. I don't think it matters as these are for the illumination only
