from the dashes i have taken apart, i seem to remember being able to unscrew it by and on the out side, or using my fingers to reach up in to the dash and untwisting the nut with the tips. Adam Deuts

I have one of those black plastic type antenna's that can screw off, and i get great reception. it doesn't get in the way of my cover and if it does i can just twist it off. Adam Deutsch 72B

The point is that you can't go around knocking the later models. I think that an early car is nicer to look at too (owning a 72); but at the same time i feel there is alot to be said about a rubber b
