This thread has been going for awhile, but first look at the most simple thing you can that could cause this type of failure. The distributor is the most likely to cause this out of phase condition.

One thing you might want to consider for tuning your carbs is a Colortune. I've seen lots of pros and cons about using them but I like it. It really lets you see what is happening in the combustion
