This thread has been going for awhile, but first look at the most
simple thing you can that could cause this type of failure. The
distributor is the most likely to cause this out of phase condition.
Since it appears to have been a catastrophic type of failure, is the
distributor shaft or its gearing broken? How about the distributor
plate not being secure? Since it a contactless distributor what
controls the spark pulse? Simple things first and then if they are
alright, look at your cam and timing chain

Sounds bad...
Do a compression check and a vacuum test. It sounds like you may have a
valve train problem. I would guess that you will have low compression and
your vacuum test will show regular spikes (if you can get it running).
Sounds expensive. Let me know what you find out from the tests.
