- Good morning Amici, I'm soliciting opinions on using a copper head gasket on the recessed block of the GT6. I don't want to shave the block to get the smooth deck so I'm pondering the effects on the

- It probably won't seal well since there will not be any protrusion on the gasket to fit into the depression. If you can't get rid of the depression, it's probably better to use a composition gasket

- If fitting +60 pistons to a recessed block then it is best to chamfer the tops of the pistons to stop them hitting the head gasket - been there - done that, makes a noise. John Kipping -- Original Me

- You can get copper or steel rings cut at a metal slitting company--they use a variety of technologies to cut patterns. No idea of the cost. You could also try a fly cutter, I've used them to make alu

- That's the kid of thinking I was pursuing! Instead of the brazing I'd just set the rings in the grooves with a .003-.005 deck height and them torque it down. Basically an O-ringed head with wider O-r
