The steel shim and solid copper head gaskets are very picky about liner protrusion. The stock style sandwich gasket is much more tolerant of this kind of thing. - Tony Drews

The latest composite gaskets from Payden have the eyebrow removed from the gasket. The holes are not round, they have the "eyebrows" removed from both sides (in case you do this for the exhaust too).

I just found the Tran-x website. They shows a plate type LSD for a TR-6. I assume it will fit a TR-4 as well? Any hints on who sells them / how much? Looks like a similar setup to the Salisbury, but

I'm not sure how we arrived at these numbers, but we use 65 ft lbs with 7/16" studs and 75 ft lbs with 1/2" studs. With the 65, we'll get a little movement after one session and then it's rock solid.

We've run up to (and sometimes over) 5 psi with stock needle valves. Grose jets in place of stock needle valves don't work worth a hoot. 2 to 3 psi should be fine. The bigger deal is the fuel pump /
