My 69 1600 is running like crap. I took it for a possible tune up and was told the distributor shaft was worn and no point on setting the points. Two options given, get another distributor or go with

Unless you like setting and replacing points, I'd say go electronic. That means installing a Pertronix unit in a stock distributor or purchasing a Gary Boone Electronic Ignition dizzy. Subject previo

I would definitely recommend electronic. I bought Gary Boone's and it stabilized an uneven idle I struggled with for years. In hindsight, I can attribute that to the old distributor. It also seems to
