Hi Daniel, Same thing happened to me. The fixed "captured" nut is larger, 11/16 inch. I was able to get a 11/16 open wrench on the backside of the bumper guard while using a 9/16 socket on the bolt.

Don't think Calspeed is referring just to your 67.5 1600, it's a generalization that applies to just about all old cars. Generally, we put far more dollars and hours into these cars than we get back
