- If the "boost" came shortly after leaving work ( a mile or so ) I would guess fuel pump problems more than vapor lock. If the car starts, it may be running off the float bowls until the pump catches

- I took Marc's way out also, but with my driving lights. I had wired them to the stock harness but it started melting fuses after awhile. I ended up wiring a completely new circuit on an in-line fuse
