I just went through this for 3 months on a 68 2000. You probably need the cam tower shims. If you don't know the head thickness then its a guess. .030 really tightened mine up and it ran great. Valve

I shimmed mine with rubber o rings. They provide a cushion for the tensioner foot.. However, with all of the new components, the tensioner was so much tighter, it didn't seem like I needed it. Sounds

I run the 160 in the summer and the 180 in the winter for the same reasons as Fred. Also, we have more alcohol in the gas and it boils at a lower temp. at 6000' so I try to keep the cars as cool as p

Why would a fuel pump run constantly unless its electric? If the engine dies on a mechanical fp, so does the fuel pump.. Electric fuel pumps sometimes need pressure regulators. Sounds more like a bad
