Don't roll bars add unneccesary ''weight' to the car. I would think aluminium would be the obvious choice. or light weight titanium. But if it is not required for racing, I would leave the weight out

I know this sounds like a dumb reply, But you didn't mention replacing the battery. I had the same problem a week ago when reviving my roadster to life, I used jumper cables, but had those symptoms,
