I think some who read that may get confused. the relationship between the tach and road speed will involve multiplication, not addition. For example, a tachometer could read 1/2, 1/3, 23/64ths or so

Michel, you can service your hot water valve. It's most likely the diaphragm which is ripped. If you can't find a New GT-6 heater valve, you can remove the diaphragm from one which you can buy, MGB,
