- The problem is: Take a quick compute of the side load onto your sprocket. On a 6 cylinder engine, the torque required to turn the cam, move all the lifter gear, compress springs, etc is non-trivial.

- According to the book I have, early type Spit 1147's were furnished with a scroll type rear oil seal, and later types with a lip/rubber type oil seal. The rear oil seal housings are different as well
