- I need to find a source for gas springs for the hatchback on my wifes 1996 Ford Probe GT. Anyone have any ideas short of giving the dealer $200.00 for them??? Mike B.

- NAPA stores have them for most cars. Or, you can go ultra-cheap and get a little latch mechanism that keeps the hatch up with weak gas lifts. It's $10-15.00. CHuck

- giving the dealer $200.00 for them??? Mike, Pep Boys (and probably others) sells a USA brand (from Pennsylvania, I think) that appears to be the OEM stuff. Comes with a warranty, etc. Dick
