Hi all, I read some past posting about coolant overflow tanks, and made one for my SII. It is just a bottle with a hose that extends to its bottom with the other end connected to the pressure valve o

Harvey: I installed overflow tanks on my last Alpine and current Tiger, and they completely solved the overflow problem. Plus, they allow you to completely fill up your radiator all the way up to the

Only one more modification needed, Cole. You need to replace the radiator cap with a newer style, that also has a rubber seal around the top of the filler neck. That way, suction will pull the coolan

I haven't been able to find the correct radiator cap to allow a proper 'full recovery' overflow tank to work on a S3-V Alpine. S1 & 2 may be different due to the x-flow radiator. You need the seal ar

You will need to use a radiator cap that allows coolant to flow back into your radiator. My guess is the Alpine cap opens when the pressure gets above its rating and dumps coolant in your catch can

S3 Alpine, incontinent Hey, when you're "old" you have to expect these sort of things!!! You need the seal around the outer rim of the cap, plus the 'long reach' cap, plus the 7-9lb pressure. Not an

Not as such. On a sealed system, the pressure valve is on the overflow tank/bottle, not on the rad. This allows two way traffic between the rad and overflow unit. On the existing rad, the pressure v

Hi all, Thanks for the suggestions. There seems to be a need for more information, so here it is. My overflow bottle does have a breather hole in the top. The SII cars have a tank the sits in front o

My suggestion would to put a Series I tank on the car. They do not have that nasty relief valve and use a real radiator cap. I might have an extra one. Tom Thanks for the suggestions. There seems to

Hi all, Here is what I found. The filler on the tank that the radiator cap fits to was bent. There was no way the upper seal on the cap could seal. Thus it let air back into the system. I cut a gaske

Cole, there may be several reasons the engine does'nt heat up. 1. the thermostat is not closing 2. the thermostat is missing 3. it's too darn cold out =0) 4. not enough water in the system with a 4-7
