Thanks for the help and the pictures. I soaked the mirror in lacquer thinner for about an hour yesterday and the mirror popped out. I drilled out the little brass rivets and everything is now apart.

Seems like you could still use the radio if you insulated the case from the car body and then ran a positive wire to the case. I don't know cuz I have never done it! :)
