In '74 Triumph put a starter relay in to meet the requirement of having seat belts on before the car will start. Your seat belt switchery is probably bypassed, but the starter relay is likely still

I used to have a late '72 (CC84494U) that had the plastic vent, large flasher switch with no relay and a seat belt warning light. I think the seatbelt light was mandated on all cars built Jan 1 1972

There is a check valve at the rear of the M/C. It has it's own seal and a small 'wavey' washer that are part of the rebuild kit. It allows fluid to flow from the reservoir into the body and seals it

My float sank to the bottom about a month ago so I'm in the same boat. I have a spare original plastic one, but I wonder if the new 10% ethanol fuel is somehow making the plastic brittle. Anyway, I

You're car's not a '74 or up, is it? I don't know how, but maybe it got wired into the power source for the anti-run-on valve. I'm not sure how that would explain it either, though... Jeff 74 & 74.5
