Well, VSCDA is not longer the sanctioning body for the BRIC (now called the

Just like any group... Group 6 has its share of great drivers, average
drivers, mediocre drivers, and a few a danger to every man & beast.

Also, there will always be an issue of guys that can afford cars must
faster
than their talent level.

Are they going to ban radios? I see no valid reason for 'amateurs'
to have even more things to do other than pay attention to what they are
doing.

Radios?? This is an interesting subject Walt.

It would probably be hard to BAN radios, so this year at the Kohler
International Challenge, EVERYONE WILL HAVE RADIOS!!!!!

Look at the entry package and you will see that we have arranged for every
driver in every class to have a small receiver in their helmet that we will

broadcast track information, such as GREEN FLAG, any YELLOW FLAG locations
and
of course RED FLAG if it comes to that. We will also be able to call in
BLACK
FLAG situations and report any track conditions such as water, oil, snow,
critters, etc.

Not exactly "Vintage" but a nice gesture. However, isn't it simply reducing
the "solution" to address the lowest common denominator? Since SOME drivers
can't pay attention to the flags, we'll make them ALL use radios? (I know
I'm over-simplifying, but that's the direction you're heading...) I would
hope a more applicable solution would be to address the "driver attitude" to
comply with the spirit of the sport.

Ever the idealist...
