Be very careful on this; different groups have very different opinions on
appropriate tires. Even HSR has started policing this. I have raced a Spridget
some and the Hoosier bias tires do not generally like much camber. They are a
blast to drive as the car can be easily slung through the turns. The car will
be faster & slightly more difficult to drive with the radials. Hoosiers are not
known for long wear. The most recent GrassRoots MotorSports magazine has a
pretty good comparsion.

Subject: Race Tires for Midget
I am deciding on which tires to get. The rims will be 6" wide. I have
a
round wheel arch Midget to run in SCCA., HSR & VDCA Vintage events.
Durability and wear are more important to me than ultimate stick.
185x60 Hoosier R3S03 $ 134
175x60 Kumho V700 Ecsta $ 85.00
175 x60 Yoko A032R $ 103
185x60 Toyo Proxes RA-1 $ 147
Budget wise, I would prefer the Kumhos or Yoko. Tires must be DOT.
What
say ye !
