I have a few quick questions regarding powder coating which stem from
the fact my
oil pan looks poor at best. Powder coating would be nice.
1) Is there any problems with powder coating an oil pan? Will the
coating stand
up to the heat and oil?
2) Typically, the way powder coating works ( I think), the inside of
the pan
would be coated too. Is there a problem with this? Also, do you
leave the
drain plug in place to keep the powder out of the threads? Same with
the
temperature sender threads?
3) On some powder coated parts I have seen the material looks like it
is applied really thick.
Can this be varied? I just want it to look like a painted part... not
one that has been
encapsulated in plastic.
Thanks for the advice.
