I'd like to see some data supporting this statement. I find it difficult
to believe, given how much these products are used in close contact and
high risk situations (a baby is very likely to ingest some of this
material at some point, so I doubt they would use a neurotoxin). I also
am not sure that Polyacrylamide is the material used in all (or even
most) of the superabsorbent materials. My understanding was that many of
them are Poly(acrylic acid) which is a different material.
Polyacrylamide is used in soft contact lenses, skin electrodes, and even
in agriculture and landscaping where its runoff would clearly pollute
water supplies and where it could directly enter the food chain. It is
also used in other applications where I can not see anyone using a
neurotoxin. I also found no support for in any search of any works on
the uses or effects of Polyacrylamide. OTOH I did find one source that
stated clearly that Polyacrylamides are not toxic. That is the top link
in the list below. Certain monomers used in production of some plastics,
and perhaps in the production of Polyacrylamide, are toxic, so perhaps
the chemists are suffering from the effects of these compounds, but that
does not make the final product a toxin.

If you have data to support your claim I would really like to see it,
because these families of products are being used in more and more
products and processes. they are even being used as fire retardants in
fighting wildfires because they are supposedly less toxic than the
chemicals they are replacing.
