This thread prompts me to throw out a question to the engineers, chemists or
other knowledgeable people out there....
What are the differences in the properties of Teflon and Delrin? Which can
handle the greater force and which can handle the higher heat?
I modified a set of Teflon wrist pin bushes for a VW engine to work on a BMC
A. One melted and caused damage. Would Delrin have been a better product? My
suspicions are that the BMC A actually gets hotter than the VW, probably
after the engine is shut down.
