Anybody else collect vintage books on racing? I started about ten years
ago and have specialized in Alfas, racing manuals, and bios of the
period. Soon I can start a library. At least they take up a lot less
space than cars...
Just finished "Works Driver", Taruffi's autobiography from 1964.
Marvelous history with Taruffi's technical commentary. Includes stories
about practically everything and everybody from the 30s to the 50s,
incl. the Carrera Panamericana (and the '57 Mille Miglia, which Taruffi
won, then immediately retired - at the suggestion of Enzo Ferrari!)
And I found the "Bibliofind" web site: http://www.bibliofind.com/
and searched "automobile racing" last night - what a temptation! Ended
up ordering a copy of John Bond's "Sports Cars in Action" from 1954 from
a bookseller on Long Island.

All generalizations, with the possible exception of this one, are false!
