Can't confirm if it was a man or a woman (I've heard it both ways) but I
believe the rest to be true (I was in the new grandstands at 12 but
without my radio).

I can confirm the rain part without qualification.

I left in the middle of race 6 (out of 7) and to that point don't think
things were too bad.  A large FA/FC crash on the first lap of their race
(going into turn 5) cetainly gave the impression of chaos, but it was a
typical chain reaction and I don't believe anyone was hurt (I was at the
fence about 30 ft. away from it).
