This is for those of you who recall the death of John Legat, the driver of
the Chevron B21 in a vintage race at Summit Point Raceway last May, and who
have been wondering how to send condolences to his widow.
I am forwarding the following from Josh Cockey, Flag & Comm chief of the
D.C. region SCCA, who was in charge of Flag and Comm. that weekend.
It would be a kindess to send a short note. There is nothing that you could
say in a note that would be wrong and anything you say would be absolutely
right and very much appreciated.
Here is the note that Josh forwarded:
From: TRACEY.HAMILTON@emc.walgreens.com
Date: Wednesday, 18 June 1997 10:17am CT
To: jcockey@crosslink.net
Subject: John Legat's address
I received the information from one of his friends in the
Milwaukee SCCA Region. I now understand why you were unable
to locate him in the phone book.
His wife's name is Waltraud. Her address is:
546 Oak Knoll Rd
Barrington Hills, IL 60010
I hope this helps you. Dawn Fischer, John's friend, said
she thought Waltraud would greatly appreciate the expressions
of sympathy from his associates in the sport of racing.
Hope this helps.
Take care,
Josh
